Siem WIS was founded in 2005 and have for over 10 years developed, patented and commercialiazed new and innovative equipment for the oil and gas industry.
2005: Siem WIS was founded. 100% owned by Wellis AS.
2006: Siem Offshore acquired 60% of the company which consequently became capitalised, making extensive R&D possible.
2007: Seal solution development programme initiated.
2008: Development contract with Statoil (CircSub) and full-scale testing at the Weatherford Training Centre in Aberdeen. ISO 9001-2000 and Achilles JQS certification.
2009: Development contract with Statoil on the Riser Pressure Control Device and full-scale testing of the PCD at Ullrigg in Stavanger. Successful implementation of the ERP system SAP.
2010: First PCD offshore operation for Statoil on Gullfaks C.
2011: Shell International and Statoil API R16 RCD extended qualification. Build programme for 2 PCD 5000 systems.
2012: Build programme for 2 PCD 5000 systems.
2013: Awarded a long-term PCD contract with M-I Swaco on the Valemon and Gudrun fields.
2014: Awarded a PCD contract with M-I Swaco on the King Lear field and first commercial PCD operations on the Romeo Well.
2015: Completed PCD services for M-I Swaco on the Romeo Well for Statoil, on board Mærsk Gallant. Initiated PCD operations on the Julius Well, on board Mærsk Gallant.
